An adults only establishment restricts access from a minimum age, usually sixteen or eighteen, and that restriction is permissible because it reflects a specialisation of the offer rather than discrimination on a protected personal characteristic.

All inclusive works out when at least two meals a day will be taken at the establishment and there is no plan to explore the island, while anyone intending to travel around ends up paying twice for the same meals.

The usual pattern is check in from two or three in the afternoon and check out by eleven or twelve at midday, and the gap exists because the room must be cleaned and prepared between one guest and the next.

Half board works out when the daily premium per person is lower than the cost of eating out and the establishment sits away from any centre with restaurants, a common situation in coastal resorts and inland.

High season runs from June to September with the highest prices and occupancy, while May and October offer favourable weather at noticeably lower rates and low season from November to March has a reduced offer.

Cancellation terms are set by the rate booked: flexible rates allow cancellation without charge up to twenty four or forty eight hours beforehand, while non refundable rates admit no refund, and both must be clearly disclosed before booking.
